Loudbus GivesBIG to

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Masschusetts Bay

Loudbus ask the college students of Boston to donate their spare clothes to the foundation to raise funds for their organization.Bring your clothes to the Loudbus Event April 24, 2008.

Learn about about the foundation below:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay’s mission is to promote the healthy development of children through the nurturing of continuing, one-to-one friendships with caring responsible adults, supported by trained professional staff.

We believe that every child can benefit from the involvement of caring adults in their lives and that children without positive role models are at a significant disadvantage in their development.

We believe that it is the volunteer Big Brother or Big Sister who is the direct agent of change for the Little Brother or Little Sister.

We believe that the average adult volunteer has the capacity to form a long-lasting friendship with his Little Brother or her Little Sister.

We believe that it is BBBSMB’s role to support our volunteers in their work with youth, gauging the level and type of support which the volunteer requests and needs.

We believe that our involvement in youth development carries inherent risks and that BBBSMB’s role is to manage those risks in favor of positive development.

We believe that BBBSMB has an obligation to value and respect the trust placed in us by donors and that this obligation requires us to communicate with those donors about the work they are supporting.

We believe that outcomes and data drive our decision-making.

We believe that attracting and retaining a talented and skilled staff is essential to our success in fulfilling our mission. We believe that the mission is best accomplished when staff 1) is composed of a diverse group of talented and skilled professionals who are focused on helping children, 2) works together collaboratively and flexibly and 3) creates and maintains an open welcoming and safe environment that strengthens and empowers the capacity of volunteers to serve children as mentors

We believe that when in doubt, tell the truth, and in all other cases, tell the truth.
