What to Pack for Spring Break
What to wear day to night by the beach.

by Lea Rossignol

As most college students already know, spring break is right around the corner. For most, this means a little break from the unbearable cold weather and stepping into warm weather fashion. Spring break trips mean relief from overwhelming schoolwork, professors, internships and jobs. Don’t let the stress of packing bring you down; be prepared and don’t over pack!

The key to avoiding a bulging suitcase that you can’t even pick up is choosing versatile outfits that can be used more than one way. Dresses that can go from day to night, reversible bathing suits, and an essential pair of jeans are important in creating a well-packed suitcase. For the most part spring break should be a relaxing time, but we all know that going out and looking good is on your mind.

A great bathing suit is critical on spring break, as it will probably be the thing you wear the most. The bathing suit should fit properly, and by properly I don’t mean the smallest one you can find. Make sure the bathing suit doesn’t pinch any skin and most importantly it is never a good sign if skin is folding over. Not all bathing suit styles are made for your body type so make sure to try a lot of different styles. Victoria’s Secret online is a great resource for bathing suits. They come in a lot of different styles and prints and are fairly inexpensive.

The next item you should pack is a good cover-up for the beach. – something to throw on to go to and from the hotel to the beach, out for a quick lunch in between sun bathing or to stay safe from the evil rays of the sun while enjoying the warmth. Again, Victoria’s Secret can help you out with this need.

If a cover-up isn’t for you, opt for a fun, simple dress that will transition from a day at the beach to a night at the club. The switch can work around your basic accessorizing with items that fit more tightly in your luggage. For day, a dress goes well with sandals and little to no accessories, messy ocean hair and bronzing sunblock. For night, shake things up with strappy heels, some simple jewelry, a quick up-do and smoky eye makeup.

Victoria's Secret Monokini Lastly, make sure you have a great pair of jeans for those cool nights, and a comfortable and flattering pair of fabric shorts. Your footwear, sandals and sexy heels, should go with all of your apparel. The trick to keeping your traveling bag light is to make sure that your core pieces will all go together without feeling boring.

This first look is from Victoria’s Secret the bathing suit is a newer styleVictoria's Secret Coverup might leave. This could work better for those late night swimming called a monokini. The only draw back to this suit is the funny tan line it sessions than sun filled days at the beach. This suit is $52 dollars and can be found at VictoriasSecret.com.

I found a great cover-up at Victoria’s Secret that comes in a variety of colors. It is shown here in red and goes for $38 dollars.

Racerback The last look is a great pair of red shorts shown with strappy heels and a top with a sexy racerback detail. These shorts can beShorts paired with a simple tank and sandals during the day as well. The shorts are from J Crew and the top from Urban Outfitters. The outfit is about $96 dollars.
